APOLOGY regarding recent events with the Hetalia cast...

Ahhh so I think I should make this post as a safeguard just in case. Pun intended.

So before I bring the hate of the Hetalia cast down on me-- Thread in Germany's and Thread in Sweden's

--No I'm not causing some big to-do. |D Edgeworth needs something lawful to be involved in. Nothing's really going to happen without anyone's consent, I'm not really plotting anything at this moment (although I would be happy to if anyone wanted!)

I'm just going through the IC paces, but I figured a little disclaimer was necessary. I'm not trying to impede on any cast's goings-on or anything like that, I promise.

Posted in [livejournal.com profile] playmyace for the reason that this has strictly to do with plotting/consent/IC stuff and I figured spamming the ooc wasn't the best idea.

If any of you have any thoughts/questions or anything you want to clear up, please let me know here. <3

OKAY AT RISK OF SOUNDING A WHOLE LOT LIKE MY CHARACTER: I... am a little confused? What's going on here? 8D;

XD OH RIGHT okay I was just confused. Yeah. Um. Generally speaking, the countries are insane people who don't count themselves AS people, so why would laws apply to them? OR WE CAN JUST QUOTE PRUSSIA. But yeah it's definitely IC for people to go OH MY GOD YOU MORONS—I personally welcome it because it's fun, but as long as people don't start—like, um, even if someone was like "hey, Denmark, want us to arrest Germany for kidnapping," Denmark would... be kind of thrilled, sure, but object because Germany ≠ person and Denmark ≠ person so Denmark's occupation ≠ kidnapping? Y'know?

I agree!

But on the other hand I really enjoy the CR where people are literally like, "...Can't we all just be friends? :D?" Because it points out a lot of the absurdity of war, in general. I mean of course there have been reasons for this war or that war but it's intellectually an interesting idea to have them be challenged on the concept. The idea that they look like people, have emotions, act for themselves (well, when their bosses aren't being bitches), or are at least conscious of dealings, makes it even more absurd that those kind of full-scale conflicts should happen. So when a rational argument is given like, "Okay so you guys, nations, are are...sort of people can't you just agree not to fight?" It's less about the concept of real-world-nations fighting as the hetalia-nation entities basically looking absurd which, ultimately, is interesting because I think it lets people view things of real-world in a slightly different light.

Or maybe that was just my own feelings in that regard. ;; Certainly it's interesting for me, crazy-peace-lover I am to defend war to humans and the concept of invading countries. Do something different for a change.

Definitely. In the Ace Attorney games after all the allegations of "PROSECUTORS ARE EVIL" (lol admittedly some of them where) Edgeworth and Phoenix did get that moment of back story where Edgeworth is like I became a prosecution for TRUTH AND JUSTICE. (T-those games are really fun. Ironically I keep getting told in Mock Trial to make my objections more confident. Not that this is relevant to the topic at hand at all.) Anyway it makes sense that he would - that any sane person would certainly bring it up too.

Cultures are fascinating. Ahhhh history. Of course you should be involved that's what panfandom games are for!

Interjecting for no reason really other than to agree and babble and because, like America, I must snoop in everyone's business. America gets his fair share of "YOU'RE NOT A COUNTRY" but at this point he's just like "you people are riddled with mental diseases get away from me" to anyone who denies him.

But yeah, I think it's cool that Edgeworth's questioning and prodding at the countries' logic and reasoning because they're all considerably insane. And yet, what they do and how they feel is represented in reality so it's kind like WE LIVE IN AN ABSURDIST REALITY. Really, I don't have much problem with it until someone tries to impose human laws on him or apply them to the Cold War. Unless Edgeworth wants to reenact the McCarthy trials.

I don't make sense but basically I'm saying I APPROVE OF ANY DISCUSSIONS OF THE NATURE OF INDIVIDUALITY/FREEWILL/DEATH/NATIONALISM/"WHAT IS A NATION?" THAT MAY RESULT.

And then they watch Talladega Nights and talk how awesome it is to be American.

The cool thing about the lawyer/police situation is all the questions that come up from it, since not everyone operates under the same laws. Even if the lawyers do manage to present evidence, it comes up whether it's ethical (in the case of Hetalia) to prosecute an entire culture. idkkkk I think it's cool. America's been arrested once, but he pretty much wrote it off as "training" in case he was ever in a POW situation in Disc. He can't live without delusions and he just. Can't wrap his mind around how it would be possible to arrest a country for engaging in warfare. It's confusion all around for everyone involved.

omg noooooooooooo don't hang with the Nazi. but it's not a bad thing for Edge, considering his culture at the moment is DRUGS COMMUNISTS DRUGS ROCK N' ROLL RIOTS PEACE MARCHES FEMINISTS DRAFTS WAR DRUGS SEX ASSASSINATIONS CIVIL RIGHTS COMMUNISTS DID I MENTION DRUGS?

/being totally involved I should say something too I guess.

Anyway Sweden is always up for legal discussions. He might not say much and his ideas about ius in bello and ius ad bellum might be pretty antique (what is a war of agression the word itself doesn't make sense :|) but at least that detail all involved parties might agree on. The war of agression thing, I mean. Modern tiiimez.

/stops ranting.

I mean, I'd love Edgeworth involved. And he could maybe do something with the "Prussia owned Discedo" thing if he wants? idk. But yeah, I defs like him being involved, even more if he specializes in international law because there they could have really interesting conversations. /imagining having lectures with countries as guests in international law classes? Awesume** I'd have loved that XDDD

GO TO BED

<333 And I'll try to brush um my medieval law. I'm sure that I still have the notes somewhere... And there are always books. I just have to figure out how things were in his time because arrrgh Westphalia/the whole 30 years war is a bitch and changes everything.

lol that seems to be a common sentiment somehow. And yeah of the involved parties... Germany might actually be a lot more sane but he's nazi. While America and Denmark... I'm so looking forward to crush those good impressions should he find out that Latvia spies on him.
