Okay uh derpderp we already had the death convo and uhhh I'LL ADDRESS THE ONES I HAVEN'T YET

HUMANS. My personal thinking is it seems like people don't give too much of a shit and just accept it like "oh, cool, we have personifications, that's pretty awesome." I think regular people would see the countries in the same position you'd see a leader or president- you know of them, but you don't know them, unless you would directly interact with them or whatever. Tl;dr, I'm pretty sure they know and it's probably quite a public thing that people are just... used to.

BEFORE "COUNTRIES". OKAY HEADCANON TIEM I'm kind of thinking that like, ancient god religion/legends and stuff were based slightly off of themselves, after something rediculous happened and they realized they probably weren't human (like dying and not staying dead, or waking up later during a ceremonial burial in tribal times or something and having people worship them like gods). I think that's partly the reason some countries see themselves as a little higher-and-mightier than people: for instance, America sees himself as totally bamf because he got a couple thousand years to hang with the indians and be praised. On the other hand, England kind of knew right off the bat from being involved with other countries, so he has less of an opinion of himself over normal people.

god i never realized how much i could write on personal headcanon, orz
