HETALIA CHIPS: TASTES LIKE IMPERIALISM
Please don't kill me.
Since Mr. Cold War is hoping to get his chip out and Hetalia is absolute crack, I wanted to put up what I hope to do for an event/powers so the cast can have an input if they don't agree. I'm going partly by previous agreements (I can't find the original plotting post but this was the basic outcome) but I fully realize that much of the cast is newer and have more to say.
This is all just to maintain some basic level of consistency (BUT AGAIN. HETALIA. ANYTHING GOES.) But anyway.
POWERS:
Alright, we all know Hetalia is basically "WHATEVER IS FUNNY IS POSSIBLE", but there's so much fanon/actual "powers" that can be concluded from the comics (America's super strength, England's magic, Russia's resistance to dark magic, etc). These following points were discussed in the past and seem to be consistent within the cast, but just to be sure:
✗ Immortality: ...to a degree. I've seen several others say that, in Hetalia-land, they can't die for realsies unless their culture is destroyed, land given away, etc. I would assume that some of the same basic things apply to Discedo.
However--and this is where your opinions count!--since none of the countries are connected to their people or land in Disc, I would imagine they'd be much harder to kill, but not impossible. Or, at the least, if a country were to "die", they'd be revived by the scientists before they'd naturally revive (again, this is all based on personal interpretations). THOUGHTS ARE APPRECIATED.
✗ Fast Healing: If Russia can jump out of a plane and be back on the field in no time, England can recover from (seemingly) life-threatening wounds in three days, and America can break his leg and recover quickly, I think it's safe to say that these guys get over externally-inflicted wounds quickly. What I mean by "externally-inflicted" are wounds like getting shot, stabbed, burned, etc. as opposed to wounds they'd receive due to traumatic historical events or natural disasters, like China's scar from the Sino-Japanese war.
✗ RANDOM BULLSHIT: America breaks the laws of time and space to use Google, Prussia breaks the 4th wall, and Russia eats directional arrows. I have no point to make other than it will get worse than puking bears. WELCOME TO HETALIA. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR RATIONALITY AT THE DOOR.
If there's anything else you guys want to add/contribute, let me know!
CHIP EVENT(ISH):
ALSO CALLED: THIS IS REALLY JUST AN EXCUSE TO HAVE FUN WITH HISTORY
Note: I talked to a mod about this and I think as long as I clear it with you guys, it'll be okay.
This won't affect anyone directly but America, though again, in case anyone is hellbent on something silly like consistency, I'll put this here in case anyone wants to do something similar if their character gets their chip out/if you have any other ideas.
SHORT VERSION: America will be re-experiencing history, both physically and mentally, in hyper speed throughout the "sick" week after chip removal as his body becomes accustomed to being a country again.
MEDIUM VERSION: I'm still totally in the planning process of this.
LONG VERSION: Once America has his chip removed, he'll start feeling lightheaded, extremely queasy, basic sick stuff. He'll still be in his typical 60s mindset by this point, complain, and lay down for a nap.
He's going to wake up slightly younger-looking withbetter eyesight jaundice. HELLO THERE YELLOW FEVER EPIDEMIC OF 1793. Or maybe I'll start at the end of the Revolutionary war I don't really know at this point.
Not that anyone cares but HERE ARE TIME PERIODS I'M HOPING TO HIT UP THROUGHOUT THE WEEK (or maybe a little longer since I doubt anyone wants me posting every day):
The War of 1812: /invades Canada's vital regions
American Civil War: the return of Sir Multi personality
American Imperialism: "AHHHH I LOVE THE SMELL OF SMALL PACIFIC ISLANDS IN THE MORNING"
World War I: so about them Devil Dogs
The Great Depression: according to O Brother Where Art Thou, people sing and reenact The Odyssey
World War II: oh hay Hetalia
The 1950s Red Scare: "YOU KNOW, JAIL ISN'T SO BAD. YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN SALEM.ALSO HAVE YOU READ THE CRUCIBLE?"
*some is subject to change because DAMN IT I WANT TO DO MANIFEST DESTINY TOO.
America will be behaving and appearing as though he's from these time periods. By that I mean, for example with the Civil War, he'll be torn apart, his body will be wrecked to hell, and worse. He'll also talk as though he's both the Union and the Confederacy and see perceive other countries from the context of his time period. Rinse and repeat with every time period.
SO WHY AM I POSTING ALL THIS HERE? Because I want to know if you guys are okay if I do this. As Parron said, this doesn't have to be the definitive chip event for other countries; we can chalk it all up to willpower, difference in countries and their history, time spent in Discedo, etc. Or we can bullshit it. Once again: this is all depending if you guys want rigid consistency or don't care. I'd like to note that I'm starting after America's independence because colonialism would a) be too much to do and b) kill everyone with the cuteness of Babbymerica. If anyone wants to do something similar, go ahead and start from whatever time period you like/feel comfortable with/what have you.
I FEEL LIKE I HAD MORE TO SAY BUT I'M GOING TO LET YOU GUYS SPEAK NOW. INPUT PLZ.
And for the record, America won't be getting his chip out until after whatever mod event is upcoming. This is just to plan in the mean time.

Also as you know, America MUST show up to the nation meeting high on imperialism.

I GOT THIS ICON EXPLICITLY FOR THAT PURPOSE. HE JUST LOOKS LIKE HE'S SAYING "LET'S INVADE THE PACIFIC!"
even though this icon is from a comic about WWI whoopsIf the timing's wonky I'll do Manifest Destiny which is just as good.

✗ Personal Unions. Two countries ~becoming one~. See the Austo-Hungarian Empire, Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth, Denmark-Norway. Do people think of these as friendships, purely business, marriage, something else...? S - seeing as how Denmark and England were unified back when we KNOW England was a baby, I hope it's not marriage.
✗ INVASIONS. Seizing vital regions - sex? Molestation? Violence? Treaties? I will say that personally, I think wars = fighting. N- not rape pleaaaase.
✗ UNICORNS. We know that England sees unicorns, Norway sees trolls, and there's slight implication that Iceland or Denmark can, too (If "you guys have weird friends" is any indication). I personally don't think Den can see them - he just believes his BFF when he says they exist - but does anyone have any general thoughts on that?
✗ HUMAN NAMES. When do they use them? When don't they? Is it intimate, or more of a "for ease of use" cover? Do countries know one another's human names, or only that of their close friends or family?
✗ ETC.
/adds two cents
.....the second one I also view on a case by case, but that is because I am a horrible person. I think it depends on who or what is being taken over?
RUSSIA JUST REPELS DARK ENERGY FOREVER. Somehow it works.
Canada has called America, England, and France by their real names. I figure it's a 'family' thing.

HUMAN NAMES: At least in America's case, he sees himself as an individual within a larger structure. Yes, he's a country, and his people determine what he is, but he also had a body, mind, and emotions. I reason that this is mainly due to the fact that America is such a hugely individualistic society (seriously, how many of us actually hold respect of elders and the need to conform above individuality?). To him, "America" is what he is, providing a sort of framework for his personality and actions. Alfred F. Jones is his self--the body and mind that can hug, love, cry, anything that a human can do. He mostly only tells his citizens once they know he's The United States of America, at least that's his pattern thus far in the game. It's both an intimate and casual thing for him, depending on who is using it.
I have no idea if I made sense there.
idk how many countries would know his human name. England, Canada, and France definitely, Denmark since America told him, maybe Finland and (if he ever met America in the future) Sweden.

Personal Unions: I think it was... kind of just that, personal unions. Like, the thing with Hetalia is this part is kind of a grey area. If the characters were actually intimate (see: Austria-Hungary; even in their history their countries worked pretty well together) then it might be marriage. On the other hand, it could be classified as "marriage" but done for economic reasons, not the country's own personal prefrence. (Or we could always just be like WELL THE BOSS MADE ME DO IT and leave it at that, if we're feeling lazy.)
INVASIONS: Again, this one. Kind of works like personal unions. People can kind of see it how they want, I guess? I'd really prefer not sex though because just, ergggg that's a little much for most of the people here, ect. I would assume wars=fighting, because my own personal headcanon says that probably, they'd be fighting with their wars/with their soldiers.
UNICORNS: EVERYONE HAS FOLKLORE I think that one's up to the player, because it's not really cannonly-stated except for the few characters you mentioned, so... yeah. Never especially thought about that one.
HUMAN NAMES: I think of it as a more intimate thing? That's kind of the way I've been using it, like human names are their cover for when they need to interact with regular people and not get stared at, but between countries it's kind of like... seeing them as a person as oppose to just a landmass. For me, I kind of see it like using a human name would be like recognizing that the person you're talking to is also a person, not just a country.
heeere's hoping that one made sense.

✗ SEX. There's been a lot of talk of it lately, but it's mostly been for the lulz. Any actual opinions on it? Obviously many countries don't have much problem with homosexuality among nations, but what about humans? Do you think humans in Hetalia are like "oh, France fucking the new recruits again, call me when he's done." Headcanon stories about love/sex?
EMBARRASSING FACTS? Yes I'm looking at you England.✗ HUMANS IN HETALIA. There's that one "lost strip" of a random soldier talking to France, and France responds with "don't you recognize your own country?" What do you guys think about people in Hetalia? Would they know who the countries are? Is it specific to only those who actually interact with the countries? Do they just not give a shit and accept it as reality?
✗ BEFORE "COUNTRIES." Actually I was just thinking the other day; would the countries know exactly what they are when they're first starting out? Or would they presume themselves to be something else, like pagan gods and whatnot? What would the humans think, would that an influence on how they viewed themselves?

RE: HUMAN NAMES: I myself prefer their country names because you never see them use the human names in canon, and well in England's case, there's a huge national identity crisis of WHO ARE WE REALLY. It's kind of hard to describe and it's more of a 'ivory tower of academia and political-... ia' thing than a 'any guy off the street' thing, but yeah. The English kind of have issues trying to find a national identity. I just see as the personal names as a secondary thing, sort of a 'if you're not comfortable with England, call me Arthur' sort of thing. Being #1 tsundere, England kind of gets flustered when other countries use his personal name, but he doesn't mind so much when humans/citizens use it. I just see it as a "O-oi America don't you dare use that name without me giving express permission you loony twit" kind of thing :|b
And me personally? God I loved the fucked up 50s. Mccarthyism and all that looniness is what I eat for breakfast. England didn't have the huge paranoia thing as America and eeeehhhh okay I'm going off topic. But I read a nerdy book on Britain in the Cold War and I feel exceptionally awesomely dorky about it.
RE: UNIONS: I have nothing important to say, but it is my headcanon that England keeps his brothers in his attic like Mr. Rochester. Now that Scotland has his own parliament he probably lives in his own house up in Edinburgh, but that's like... super recent. So I always imagine his brothers living with him in his house, with them coming down to breakfast every morning to greet each other calmly with "I hate you". England doesn't even look up from his paper.
AND MY TWO CENTS ON STUDY ABROAD. CHOOSE COPENHAGEN IS IT SUCH AN AWESOME PLACE. LONDON IS GREAT, BUT IT'S NOT AS IMMERSIVE AND UNIQUE AS LIVING IN A CITY THAT SPEAKS AN DIFFERENT LANGUAGE. That, and you can get to Belgium and Amsterdam pretty darn easily.

Immortality though... I guess that has to do with how strong the bond can be between Discedo and their home countries. But having citizens here should give them a boost.
BUT THE IMPORTANT THING I WANTED TO SAY WAS I read "Babbymerica" and all I could think of was Soldier having to babysit. XD

omg little America would end up wearing a soldier helmet and trying to salute and just TOSSING MONSTERS AROUND WITH HIS FREAKISH STRENGTH. I don't even, man.
