Death - For the physical stuff, I always saw it as they would heal quickly (so like they wouldn't bleed to death or something, and they would be ready to fight the next day) or for the big stuff there would be some sort of divine intervention (that headshot actually just barely grazed the skull, if they're drowning then a huge wave throws them up on shore, etc.) so that they just couldn't die.
Love/Sex - I always figured that the countries would have control over it on an individual level. Like, as long as they did all of their other duties as a nation, they could love whoever they wanted and have sex with whoever they wanted. For Finland, I figured he actually has feelings for Sweden (and a tiny bit for Estonia, but that's hidden under BFF4LIFE stuff) as well as a few crushes on some of his own people in the past, and during times where he had prolonged exposure to his people (like during long wars, or in the 1917 and beyond time for a few years while he was setting up his own nation stuff) he would have a wife or a girlfriend or whatever to 'blend in' with his people. This also goes with the "humans in Hetalia" part: I always thought the nations would keep their identity as a nation secret from the general public and use their human names then, but their high-ranking officials would know.
Before "Countries" - For Finland, I play it as though his memories are really foggy before he met Sweden. Like he knows he was around, and he can remember knowing he was different from his people, but he doesn't remember at what point he realized that.
