Discedo City Watch/Citizen Defense

I'm going to get smacked for this if it needed Mod Approval...

After the ghost event and seeing how little was done to help the affected, Hitsugaya kind of got upset. FF!Seifer brought up the Police Force, and HItsugaya has gotten the idea to patch it up and get it back up and running. Not to the extent it used to be, though. Instead of being like the police forces on Earth, it would more be about the defense of all the citizens. Keeping things organized in case of an attack or disaster, offering protection if they wanted it, and just keeping an eye on the city. Basically, a city watch, if you would.

Now, I went through both PlayMyAce and Discedo_Logs and I couldn't find anything recent related to the police, or the police station. The characters connected to leading it seem to have dropped from the game, as far as I could tell. If I'm wrong, please correct me so I can change or drop the plan. I don't want to cause any trouble. Especially since FF!Seifer mentioned somone might be living in the station and Discedo's rooming list doesn't say who...

So, if the plan goes through, the services offered are explained below

Patrolling the city to keep an eye on the monsters
Offering protective services to anyone who requests them
Keeping as much documentation as possible of any events that affect the city (Is paper still scarce?)
Creating safe routes too and from the major populated areas in the city in case of another disaster event

If anyone (and I do mean anyone) wants to join in or suggest something, please, feel free.

Tentative List: (Positions to be given if plan goes through

These are the posts related to the police force. /o/ One of them contains a list of police force members (although it's a little outdated), another one consists of contact information and what have you.

Either way, a new organization post is definitely a good thing, even if it's not exactly a police force.

Yeah, unfortunately there's nothing particularly current with regards to the police force. I think Adri was trying to do something with Eli and the force though, and that's the most recent thing I can recall. A lot of it's fallen through in the past due to lack of interest (IC/OOCly) and characters dropping combined with the overall aim being far too complicated.

So, something simpler -- something like what you've suggested, would probably be better, and if it lacks the tag of 'police force', part of me thinks it might have a greater chance of success ICly since, for some reason, it seemed a lot of characters had a knee jerk reaction of JESUS CHRIST A POLICE FORCE DON'T WANT ONE OF THOSE. Titles and names can make all the difference.

That said and done, if you have any questions related to the law aspect of Discedo from... way back when, I'd be happy to heeeelp. And police, although I was more involved in the lawyer aspect.

(As an aside and from a character perspective, I'd tentatively like to say this is something the Master would try to get involved in. Not the physical, clearing of the monsters side or anything, but a more kind of I AM IN CHARGE, POWEEEEEER sense -- by which I mean he could do organisation and giving orders. He was in charge of the MoD for a period in canon, he has ~experience~. Plus power. And trust! That he would inevitably later betray because he Likes To Lie.)

tl;drs I'm sorry

Loool Hitsugaya why do you let Seifer play you like this fff Seifer'll be happy if something gets put together though.

I think Barbara Gordon might be living in the police station. I'm not certain, but during the last event when Seifer went to help her that's where he picked her up from.

Far as police goes, this (http://community.livejournal.com/discedo_ooc/1615919.html) was the last OOC discussion post I remember about the police (if you follow the link on Phoenix's post it'll take you to the previous recent discussion posts).

I'm not entirely certain what's been decided (if anything), but the last IC post regarding the police force I recall is Edgeworth's here (http://verily-ergo.livejournal.com/14872.html#cutid1).

And for IC interest, [livejournal.com profile] snipers_shot still considers himself part of the police force. I thiiiink [livejournal.com profile] muncalot is still on as a crime scene investigator? Though I wouldn't quote me on that. And I'm not certain what [livejournal.com profile] notquitecap is doing, but I've gotten the impression he's up ICly for whatever as long as there's a just police force? Not too certain on that one. OH and I think [livejournal.com profile] beseriousannie has mentioned/offered ICly before to be willing to do paperwork for the police if they ever get around to needing it.

As far as characters willing to help, out of mine, umm well Seifer's a jerk so he would refuse to be on any official record for it, but I'm sure he'd be around... generally, particularly during disaster events he'd be willing to take orders. Canute though would be willing though Hitsugaya might have to explain things to him here and there.

Sadly the police have sort of vanished due to lack of organization and real interest. But, Hans here would still be glad to help out in an administrative sort of way. He offered up to do paper work and organizational type things with the force before, and would gladly do it for a city watch as well.

As for paper, it's a bit scarce unless you make it or ask for it. Hans has some blank books he's been using though, so records can be kept.

I have another character [livejournal.com profile] guardianofman who would probably gladly help out with some of those things if needed especially helping people during emergencies and creating safe routs and other things, though he probably wouldn't join outright.

I had mentioned, lightly, that I was going to toss Joseph into the mix of things in regards to security. And given that it's Toshirou getting things started, the ever stoic TESTAMENT might actually get off his lazy philosopher's ass become more community-minded and help out too.

HEY! Echoing what Sia (Master-mun) said. Edgeworth is currently attempting to get records together so he can better help in planning something exactly like this, so I'll definitely be willing to throw him your way--although he's... more the planning/talking/intelligence type, he's... very tired of nothing getting done.

Lelouch won't be happy about it, but Nunnally will be willing to help with what she can (which won't be much...probably lie detecting and that's it).

Paper is...meh? Probably best to ask the scientists for that.

[identity profile] withoutawing.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I think what had made Seph drop out was that the whole police force rules did not fit in exactly with how he is used to things (ie. military needs no lawyers to handle things and the whole SOLDIER/trooper groups were more like monster/rebel hunters than a police force). Seph himself has been acting like a monster hunter inside the city and a hunter and would probably work with a different kind of organization.

Of course, with my work hours being around when most people are online, it also is a factor in me not really being around.

YEAH I HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH THIS GUY and I'm sorry for that. Just so everyone knows, Eli and Barbara talked out some stuff here (http://bodilesswarrior.livejournal.com/2193.html?thread=28305#t28305) (it's long, I'm sorry), and I know they're both interested in working something out, but Eli knows the general "hey sign up for the police force" post isn't going to work SO HE'D PROBABLY BE WORKING OFF-COMMUNICATOR TO GET STUFF GOING and I can do whatever from there. Any way we can do this, he's up for it.

I actually really like the idea of having something else that isn't the police force doing stuff like this - it makes sense for both Hitsugaya and the fact that I'm sure a lot of people ICly have no idea about the police force/what's going on with it.

Plus, it's never a bad idea to have more ways for people to help.

That's pretty much all I've got aside from yes, paper is scarce. It's pretty much always that way, but anyone is more than welcome to use the scientist request post in conjunction with an IC post to get more paper! They may just be nice enough to help. :)

You can add Maddie to the list. She's always on the watch while working. And ghosts, yes ghosts!

I approve of this post. And while Yuri won't join up due to... past issues with peacekeeping groups, he WILL probably be flipping between being extremely helpful (helping kill monsters, saving members that get over their head) and purposely causing them trouble. So yeah~

[identity profile] skullcracking.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
oh, is the police force kaput? i have no idea; i've been on hiatus for basically the last two months. >_< last i remember, the police force was all of like, four people anyway, so.

if there's a group involved with keeping the peace and protecting people, chie's on board with it, no matter what it's called. i was kind of assuming she's been doing that offscreen while i was on hiatus?

i could probably get junpei ([livejournal.com profile] manoamano) involved once i'm back into the swing of things, too. babes like guys who patrol, right? -_-

[identity profile] stopblamingme.livejournal.com 2010-05-05 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhhh if this is same as the police force, I wanted to add my little mountie here to help out if it was alright. He even has a uniform! Just needs a horse. |D

[identity profile] snipers-shot.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
As he and Grit will talk about, Grit will be happy to help.

He'll probably want to take more of a leadership role this time around, as it is canon (Commanding Officer of an Army and all that). So... yeah.

[identity profile] latteheart.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm late to this, really sorry, but Leon ([livejournal.com profile] fuck_you_d) is on this like white on rice. He was part of the police force the last time he was here (GO ON, ASK HIM ABOUT THE TIME HE ARRESTED AMERICA AND RUSSIA AND SHO AND-) and he might be disappointed about not being able to arrest some punks, but he'll get over it. Protecting people is more important.
